The baby mammoth Lyuba from Yamal will spend the last one week in Canada.

According to the information given to a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press” in the Museum and Exhibition complex of Ivan Shemanovskiy, on the 3rd of January a senior researcher of the regional museum Galina Karzanova will go for the unique exhibit. It is unknown yet, when dismantlement of the exposition will be started. This process is labor-intensive and requires for considerable preparation. The unique platform that repeats all curves of the baby mammoth’s body was created specifically for this exhibition in order Lyuba would be stay in a vertical position.
As we should remind, the exhibition “Mammoths – giants of the Ice Age” was opened in Canada in June. The Royal British Columbia Museum together with the Field Museum of Natural History of Chicago prepared this exhibition.
This is one of the most significant exhibitions, which are conducted in the museum. Specialists of the museum are glad that the baby mammoth Lyuba was brought from Russia, and inhabitants of Canada received the unique opportunity to see her. Owing to this find specialists come closer to understanding, why mammoths disappeared, as the director general of the Royal British Columbia Museum Jack Loman says.
After coming back to Yamal the baby mammoth will “have a rest”, new tours are not planned yet.
