The yearly Christmas festival of ice sculptures “Star of Bethlehem” took place in Yekaterinburg.

On the first days of the New Year the participants of 18 teams were creating ice masterpieces on the following topics “Christmas”, “Lessons of history: 1917-2017” and “180 years of the memory of Alexander Pushkin”.
Sergey Korolkov and Boris Berendeyev from Salekhard took the second place with the composition “Revival”.
The idea is in so that an angel sits on a cloud and looks down and sees how Christian faith is being revived. In the center of the composition in the hemisphere there is a cross, and radiance of delicate rays of the sun shining from behind the cloud symbolizes arrival of the new time, as Sergey Korolkov says to a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press”. In spite of many elements, the craftsmen from Salekhard have made that the sculpture looks elegant and weightless.
As we should note, in this season a teacher of Yamal Multidisciplinary College, the winner and the prize-winner of various competitions Sergey Korolkov took his student as a companion, the second-year student Boris Berendeyev. Together they have already participated in four festivals, in which they won prizes. Thus, on the eve of the new year in Yekaterinburg the craftsmen from Yamal took the third place on the festival of ice sculptures “Europe – Asia” with the composition “Turtle and frog” based on a poem by Korney Chukovsky. In addition, in December of last year Sergey Korolkov and Boris Berendeyev participated in the ice festivals in Salekhard and Tomsk, where they won the second and the third places.
