The company “Gazpromneft-Muravlenko” started extraction of natural gas in Yety-Purovskoye field.
Horizontal sidetracking to the gas bearing stratum PK21 was fulfilled on one of idle oil wells of the southern dome. The production rate of the launched well makes about 240 thousand cubic meters of natural gas per day, or more than 200 tonnes of oil equivalent.

The same operation will be conducted soon on another well. Besides, controlled directional sidetracking will be fulfilled on two wells, what will allow involving gas deposits from PK21 to development and defining prospects of gas extraction from underlying horizons.
The gas bearing stratum PK21 is situated much higher than oil deposits being developed in Yety-Purovskoye field and has more loose structure. It required thorough selection of technical decisions, as it is informed to the news agency IA “Sever-Press” in the board of corporate communications of the branch “Gazpromneft-Muravlenko”. In particular, filters-shanks with a cell size of not more than two microns are used to minimize sand production from wells.
Sidetracking on oil wells for extraction of natural gas is used in “Gazprom Neft” for the first time. At that, equipment of domestic production is used. By its quality it does not yield imported analogues, as the director general of “Gazpromneft-Muravlenko” Valery Chikin says. Economic effectiveness of gas extraction in Yety-Purovskoye field is achieved owing to a compressor station, which was input to operation last year. It provides compressing and transportation of gas to objects of Gazprom for its further delivery to the Unified Gas Supply System.
The enterprise began extraction of natural gas in Yety-Purovskoye field owing to fulfillment of the projects “The compressor station Yety-Pur” and “The southern dome” started in 2015. The project foresees creation of infrastructure necessary for transportation of gas, including construction of a preliminary gas processing unit, internal and inter-field gas pipelines.
The capacity of infrastructural objects will allow extracting up to 400 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
