Two last modules necessary for completion of building of the plant “Yamal LNG” were delivered to the port of Sabetta. Large-tonnage constructions were delivered on the Northern Sea Route by ships of icebreaking class from China.
There is a distance between the deck and the bottom of the module. A special platform truck comes into this niche under the module; it is lifted hydraulically, rests against the bottom of the module, raises it above the deck and slowly and carefully lowers it to the mooring berth along special bridges, as the first deputy director of the project “Yamal LNG” Dmitry Monakov says. Then the construction is delivered to the site of the plant, where footings have been already prepared for it.
“Yamal LNG” fulfills the project of construction of the plant on production of liquefied natural gas with the capacity of 16 million and 500 thousand tonnes per year on resource base of the South Tambey field. It is planned that the first line of the plant will start operating by the end of this year. The cost of the project is estimated in 27 milliard dollars; practically the whole future LNG amount has been already contracted.
