Coming soon! 2018 is the year of the dog, goodness and changes

In the majority of countries the bright and cheerful holiday – the New Year’s Day is celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar at night from the 31st of December to the 1st of January. In Russia this date of celebration was established in 1699 by Peter the First, and since 1700 the country had begun to celebrate the New Year’s Day “from the birth of Christ”. On this day people displayed fireworks and set New Year’s trees decorated with candies and gingerbreads.

The chairman of the Tyumen regional Duma Sergey Korepanov and the chairman the Legislative Assembly of Yamal Sergey Yamkin congratulated residents of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with the New Year’s holidays.
Sergey Korepanov notes that the New Year’s Day is the time, with which everyone connects hopes and aspirations, opportunities and discoveries.
“The New Year’s holiday is a wonderful occasion to turn to history of the Arctic region, to mark huge contribution of people living here to preservation of unique traditions of the northern multi-national region. With pride and respect we remember today our fellow countrymen – pioneers, who developed oil and gas fields, built towns and villages. The current generation continues the glorious work of fathers and grandfathers, confidently looking to the future. Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug by right is called the locomotive of the Russian economy, the most promising region of the country”, as the chairman of the Tyumen Parliament said in the congratulation.
Sergey Yamkin underlines that for everyone the New Year’s holidays become the starting point of good beginnings and the symbol of the best intentions.
“The outgoing year was full of bright events and creative work, owing to which we were able to give a new impulse to development of our region. Ahead we have large-scale projects and tasks that should be fulfilled in order to strengthen the arctic positions, prosperity of Yamal and Russia. I thank each of you for your hard work, dedication and love for the land of Yamal,” as the speaker of Yamal said in the congratulation.
Sergey Yamkin and Sergey Korepanov wished the residents of Yamal that the New Year’s holidays would bring joy of communication with friends and relatives, home comfort and new impressions. “Let the year of 2018 be successful and be remembered for new achievements for the benefit of our beloved region and the Fatherland in general!”
