Gazprom intends to start development of extractive fields of the Gydan peninsula (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) not earlier than 2030. This information was given by the deputy chairperson of the board of «Gazprom» Vitaliy Marlekov.
As it is informed on the website neftegaz.ru, last October the President of the Russian Federation instructed to introduce zero rates of the mineral extraction tax and duty for gas from the Gydan peninsula, which is situated near the Yamal peninsula. The privilege for Gydan will be input on the same conditions as for Yamal. The decree of the government of the Russian Federation about bringing in changes to the complex plan on development of LNG production on the Yamal peninsula was published in the end of last December. In conformity with the decree, it was planned to use the zero rate of the mineral extraction tax for gas from the Gydan peninsula on condition of its liquefying in Yamal. The Ministry for finances and the Ministry for economic development together with the Ministry for energy of the Russian Federation were entrusted with bringing in the corresponding project of the normative and legal act to the government till the first of July of 2014.
The privilege will act till reaching of accumulated amount of gas extraction in 250 milliard cubic meters on a subsoil area and on condition that the time of development of reserves of a subsoil area does not exceed 12 years since the first day of the month, when extraction gas being used exclusively for LNG production, was started.
The privilege at extraction of gas condensate in Gydan together with gas being used exclusively for LNG production will act till reaching of accumulated amount of extraction of gas condensate in 20 million tons on a subsoil area and on condition that the time of development of reserves on a subsoil area does not exceed 12 years since the first day of the month, when extraction of gas condensate was started.
As we should note, 13 extractive fields were prospected in Gydan, the total amounts of which make about 2 trillion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of gas condensate. Oil reserves make 15 million tons. At timely and accurate prospecting, the Gydan peninsula can become a source of considerable amounts of hydrocarbon raw materials, which will be used both inside the country and will be sent for export.
