Yamal and Tyumen State University will study the Arctic together

In Tyumen a deputy governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the director of the department of international and external economic relations Alexander Mazharov conducted the working meeting with the rector of Tyumen State University Valery Falkov.
They discussed issues of participation of the university and its subordinate establishments in scientific projects being fulfilled on the territory of Yamal. In particular, Valery Falkov told about interest in activation of scientific work of the university in the sphere of the Arctic studies. Alexander Mazharov expressed the suggestion about including of Tyumen State University into the scientific center for exploration of the Arctic. By his words, today this is the moment, when exactly Russian educational institutions should take the important place in researching of the Arctic.
As we should remind, the governor of the region Dmitriy Kobylkin already met with the rector of Tyumen State University. They discussed directions of further cooperation of the arctic region and the largest higher education institution of Tyumen Oblast.
Today Tyumen State University is a large scientific and educational complex. It includes 11 educational and scientific-research institutions, an upper secondary school, a technological park, a center for information technologies, a center for high-performance computations. More than 30 thousand people, including people from Yamal, study there.
