Chess lessons gave much to the young sportswoman in life. Probably, they developed her mathematic skills and logical way of thinking in some degree. But the main thing is that they taught her independently to take decisions, to set aims and to reach them.
Alexandra chooses, first of all, the strongest tournaments, in which it is possible to receive good experience. On the international tournament for women she played with Olga Girya from Khanty-Mansiysk. In the decisive match Goryachkina risked and in the middle of the game used 3-4 new techniques, but her opponent with help of tricky combinations made the young partner capitulate.
As Yuriy Goryachkin notes, usually during qualifying and official tournaments it is better to use old techniques than new and untested. While preparing to competitions, the schoolgirl studies video-materials of chess players of the world level. But she does not have the favorite among them yet. Chess are not an easy kind of sport, as it can seem. It requires for brains, skillfulness, endurance and patience. They combine elements of science, art and sport. As the sportswoman tells, she comes and knows that it needs to play. Chess are practically her work already, and she loves them. She does not imagine her life without chess, and confesses that if to take them away from her life – the emptiness will stay, and there will be nothing to fill it.
