Canadian-Japanese alliance will build nine tankers for the company «Yamal LNG»

The Canadian company Teekay and the Japanese company Mitsui OSK Lines will conclude the agreement about joint construction of 9 tankers for the Russian company «Yamal LNG».
The document will be signed on the 8th of July in Seoul at presence of the head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson.
The Canadian-Japanese alliance is obliged to deliver 6 tankers to the Russian company. Besides, Mitsui OSK Lines will deliver 3 tankers. The cost of one ship makes 318 million dollars. The total sum of the bargain makes about 3 milliard dollars, as it is informed on the website energybase.ru.
The tankers, which «Yamal LNG» will receive, will be used for transportation of gas from the new plant, which will be built in the South-Tambey field. Production rate of the plant will make 16 million 500 thousand tons of liquefied natural gas per year. Input of the plant to operation is planned for 2016.
