Subordinate acts for fulfillment of the law about reindeer husbandry will be prepared in Salekhard

The sitting of the group on elaboration of the project of the law about reindeer husbandry took place in Salekhard. It was conducted by the first deputy governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Aleksey Sitnikov.
As he notes, difficult tasks are set before legislators. From one side, it needs in maximum to support the reindeer-herding sector both materially and consultatively in order to give the opportunity to indigenous population to keep traditional way of life. From the other side, it needs to bring reindeer herders into the modern society in order they consider accepted norms. As the first deputy governor underlines, the new document, which will replace the edition of the analogous law of 1998, should give a precise notion to all subjects of reindeer-herding activity and to distribute duties on state regulation of the issue in the region.
Within the sitting the instructions were given to the department on affairs of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, the department of agro-industrial complex, trade and foodstuff and to the service of veterinary of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to prepare subordinate acts for fulfillment of the new edition of the law about reindeer husbandry.
The first deputy director of the department on affairs of indigenous peoples of the North of Yamal Eduard Yaungad enumerated main topics important for private reindeer herders and reflected in the elaborated document: subsidies, insurance of reindeer herds, crediting of reindeer herders on the security of property, creation of veterinary groups on national trading stations.
The first deputy director of the department of agro-industrial complex, trade and foodstuff Viktor Yugai told about difficulties that can appear at solving the issues of insurance of reindeer herds. Yamal needs to foresee it in order they would not become the additional burden for reindeer herders or the regional budget.
