Rosneft and the American company ExxonMobil will complete drilling work in the Arctic on the 10th of October, as it was planned before.
The minister for natural resources Sergey Donskoy told journalists about it. As he notes, the work is taking place according to the schedule. According to his words, demobilization of work will be fulfilled after the process of drilling. Actually, it is impossible to fulfill any other work there this year, as the minister adds.
The non-official information appeared last week that the American company ExxonMobil had to postpone work on this project because of the sanctions imposed by the USA against Russian oil sector, as RIA «Novosti» informs. However, it became known that the American authorities gave a license to ExxonMobil for continuation of exploration drilling of the well Universitetskaya-1 in the Kara Sea in order to provide safe (for ecology) and responsible curtailment of operations.
ExxonMobil Russia and Rosneft started exploration drilling on the platform West Alpha on the northernmost well of Russia – Universitetskaya-1 in the Kara Sea this August.
