Prime Minister of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev is sure that Russia will be able to find the alternative to oil and gas equipment from Europe and the USA and to fulfill its large energy projects. He gave this information in the interview to the American CNBC.
According to the words of Dmitriy Medvedev, now there is no talk about breaking of relations with European or American partners. But it needs to fulfill own projects, including on the shelf, to develop gas fields. In this case, Russia has to re-orientate itself to other manufacturers, as he says. When the sanctions were imposed against Moscow, and the canal of deliveries of equipment was closed, the largest Russian energy companies started negotiations with alternative providers, for example, with China, which manufactures equipment for energy, including pipe-layers and other complex mechanisms already for long time. Of course, being in cooperation with them, the country will be able to solve these tasks. The question is in so, who will suffer finally in the result? Prime Minister thinks that exactly the country, which will receive these orders, will win benefits in this case.
As we should remind, on the 12th of September the EU imposed new sanctions against Russia, which touched upon oil branch, aviation building and defense complex. Earlier European countries denied Russia in new technologies and high-technological equipment for oil and gas extracting sector. Besides, the sanctions against oil and gas branch of Russia were imposed also by the USA – they mean licensing of deliveries of equipment for deep extraction of hydrocarbons, development of the arctic shelf and shale reserves of oil and gas. The restrictions touched upon drilling platforms, details for horizontal drilling, underwater and marine equipment for work in the Arctic, software for hydraulic fracturing, remotely controlled underwater apparatuses and pumps of high pressure.
