The plant «Baltic LNG» will be built in the port of Ust-Luga of Leningrad Oblast. This information was given by the deputy chairperson of the board of Gazprom Valery Golubev. According to his words, this is the most comfortable platform from the point of view of ice situation and building of fairways.
It is supposed that the plant will manufacture up to 10 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year. Gas to this plant will go from Yamal along the gas-transporting system purposed for delivery to the pipeline «Nord Stream». The project is aimed, first of all, at European markets, as it is informed on the website energy-experts.ru. It is also planned to use products of the plant for gas supply of Kaliningrad Oblast, servicing of the market of bunkerage and fulfillment of low-tonnage deliveries on the Baltic region.
It is expected that the enterprise will be input to operation in the end of 2018. As we should note, earlier Gazprom was choosing the platform for building of the plant among several variants in Leningrad Oblast.
