Russia develops arctic infrastructure on a phased basis

Russia will build 13 aerodromes and 10 technical radiolocation points in the Arctic to provide military safety of the country in the region. This information was given by the chief of the National Center for State Defense Management Lieutenant-General Mikhail Mizintsev on the sitting of the Public council at the Ministry for defense.
As he notes, it is foreseen to build 13 aerodromes, one on-land air proving ground, 10 technical positions of radiolocation points and pathfinder control centers. As he underlines, infrastructure is developed in the arctic zone on a phased basis and subdivisions and military units are formed in the region to provide military safety of Russia. He reminds that work on building of objects on Kotelny Island, Wrangel Island, Alexandra Land, Novaya Zemlya, Schmidt Cape is taking place.
As RIA «Novosti» informs, the plan of northern delivery was fulfilled on 100 percent for preparation to winter and in interests of creation of the Arctic grouping. More than 39 thousand tons of material means and more than 123 thousand tons of cargoes were delivered.
