The company «Messoyakha-neftegaz» started building of the pressure oil pipeline from Messoyakha group of fields to the trunk pipeline system Zapolyarye – Purpe. The oil pipeline with maximum carrying capacity 7 million tons per year will be laid from two sides simultaneously. Its length will make about 100 kilometers.
As the press-service of the company informs, the oil pipeline will be mounted on special supports with thermal stabilization of grounds to protect permafrost layers. Specialists plan to use a special optic fiber cable along the whole length of the route. Besides, the oil pipeline will be equipped with fire and security alarm signalizations and system of video-control. The method of directional drilling will be used for creation of necessary underground tunnels. The route of the pipeline was chosen so that it would not cross valuable pastures, where tundra people conduct their economic activity. In locations of reindeer migration and travel of indigenous population the project foresees to create 14 special passages. The pipeline will cross two rivers on the way under the ground, not breaking their riverbeds. The project of building of the pipeline received positive conclusion of Glavgosekspertiza (State expert assessment department). The beginning of oil transportation is planned in the end of 2016 after startup of East-Messoyakha field. The subsoil user already concluded the preliminary contract on pumping of raw materials on Zapolyarye – Purpe with the company «Transneft».
Fields of Messoyakha group are the northernmost of known on-land oil fields in Russia. They were discovered on the Gydan peninsula in Tazovskiy district of Yamal in the 1980-s. Proved reserves of the fields reach 465 million tons of oil and gas condensate and also more than 170 milliard cubic meters of gas.
