Sanctions will not influence on the amount of geological prospecting in the Arctic

The Ministry for natural resources of the Russian Federation considers that sanctions of the West restricting delivery of equipment and technologies for deep water drilling to Russian companies will not influence on amount of geological prospecting in the Arctic in 2015.
Geological prospecting will be conducted in the Arctic next year. Specialists are sure that it is not right to stop the work, basing on the sanctions, as the deputy minister for natural resources Denis Khramov notes in his answer to the question of journalists. As he notes, according to licensed obligations, companies should drill more than 10 wells in the Arctic next year, as RIA «Novosti» informs.
The EU and the USA have prohibited deliveries of equipment for deep water prospecting and extraction of oil, work in the Arctic and in fields of shale oil in the Russian Federation since the first of August.
In September the sanctions were made more severe: now it is forbidden to render services for such projects. At that, if the sanctions of the EU touch upon the whole Russian oil and gas sector, the USA pointed concrete companies: Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, LUKOIL and Surgutneftegaz.
