Russia intends to develop infrastructure of ecological tourism in the Arctic.
This information was given by the minister for natural resources and ecology of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy on the briefing in the press-center of ITAR-TASS.
According to the words of the minister, arctic territories become more attractive for ecological tourism. Every year thousands of travelers arrive to the north.
Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin focused attention to necessity of fulfillment of ecological projects of the Russian Geographical Society in all regions of Russia. As the head of the state notes, now ecological work of the public society covers basically the Far East and the Arctic. Many unique landscape complexes, which have no analogues in the world, are situated on these territories. Besides, these regions have big plans of economic development. It is possible to start fulfillment of these plans only after attentive calculation of all ecological risks, as Vladimir Putin notes.
As we should note, recently the government of Russia has approved the plan on development of tourism in the country till 2020. The document foresees foundation of grants for development of projects in tourist branch. Besides, the Ministry for culture, the Ministry for economic development and the Federal agency for tourism of the Russian Federation were entrusted to support zones of priority development of tourism: the North Caucasus, the Crimea, Sochi, the Far East and the Arctic.
