«Transas» will set means of navigation and communication on tankers for the project «Yamal LNG»

The Russian company «Transas» and the Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering signed the contract on equipping of 9 tankers for the project «Yamal LNG» with means of navigation and communication. This information was given in the press-service of «Transas».
According to the contract, the tankers will be equipped with the integrated navigation system consisting of 12 multifunction workstations (MFD). Besides, it is foreseen to deliver an ice radar console, a Doppler log and an echo-sounder with ice protection, fiber optic gyro-compasses (FOG) and other radio navigation equipment. Delivery of means of navigation and communication will start in 2016 and will last till July of 2018. Deck equipment will be tested for operating capacity at the temperature up to 52C degrees below zero. Supervision over building and equipping of the ships is fulfilled by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the French classification society Bureau Veritas.
