10 integrated emergency and rescue centers will be built in the Russian Arctic. They will be placed in Dudinka, Murmansk, Naryan-Mar, Archangelsk, Nadym, Vorkuta, Tiksi, Pevek, the urban-type settlement Providenie and Anadyr. All of them will be included into the international system for search and rescue, as RIA «Novosti» informs.
The rescue centers will provide the mode of permanent readiness and emergency response to any emergency situation in the Arctic. The centers will be high-mobile, for this aim equipped with aircrafts and watercrafts, all-terrain vehicles, universal emergency-rescue and firefighting outfit and equipment. In the Arctic zone of Russia there are nuclear power stations, points of basing of nuclear-powered icebreakers and ships of the Navy, chemically dangerous and explosive-flammable objects, elements of communications, which can be sources of emergency situations of technogenic character.
As we should note, already four rescue centers work in Murmansk, Vorkuta, Naryan-Mar and Dudinka. During 4 years they conducted more than 5000 search and rescue operations and helped 7000 people.
