The bakery of the town Nadym started production of bread, the recipe of which was elaborated by scientists of the scientific center for study of the Arctic. The innovative bread was made of local raw materials – in half it consists of sphagnum (a species of moss).
The town administration took production of this bread under the control. Harvesting of berries and herbs was organized for this aim in summer. A loaf of bread will be more expensive than usual – about 100 or 120 rubles. It is connected that so that production of the basis is expensive. This is a sort of therapeutic nutrition. Though in the future the price will depend on amounts of production, as a businessman Gennady Radiola informs.
The idea of use healthful tundra herbs in production of food came to researchers of Nadym several years ago. For example, as they know now, sphagnum wonderfully removes toxins from the body. Test loafs of this bread were made in the scientific and production laboratory. The results exceeded the expectations – such bread is useful and can be preserved during long time. It can become dry but never moldy. This information was given by an assistant researcher of the Nadym branch of the scientific center for study of the Arctic Vera Melnikova.
As we should note, taste and quality of the innovative product were confirmed with tests and certificates. Besides, fast-food and biological additions made of local fish and venison were elaborated in the scientific center for study of the Arctic, as «Vesti Yamal» informs.
