The Northern Sea Route and the arctic shelf will be controlled with help of a new Russian space station

Till the end of the year Roscosmos (the Russian Federal Space Agency) will prepare substantiation on deploying of the new Russian orbital station. It will allow controlling the Northern Sea Route and the arctic shelf, as it is informed on the portal neftegaz.ru.
The new manned multipurpose research orbital space station will have a high-latitude orbit with an inclination of 64.8 degrees. It will increase coverage of the territory of Russia up to ninety percent; also it will ensure continuous operational control over the Northern sea route and the arctic shelf from the space. Work on practical deploying of the station on the near-Earth orbit will start till 2018. First of all, the multipurpose laboratory and node module, the spacecrafts «OKA-T», «Soyuz-MS» and «Progress-MS». As we should note, according to the information given earlier, Russian intends to exit the project of the International Space Station.
