The scientists from the Novosibirsk institute of cytology and genetics conducted researches in the settlement Gyda of Tazovskiy district. During three weeks they studied genetic peculiarities of indigenous population.
The specialists tested children on left-handedness and right-handedness, majority of them showed good development of left and right brain hemispheres. This, according to the words of the scientists, speaks about high adaptability of tundra-dwellers to the environment. In addition, the researchers analyzed blood of the children. It was estimated by several parameters, including presence or absence of parasites and various diseases in the body. The absolute majority of people have the third group of blood or type B. According to the words of the candidate of biological sciences Lyudmila Osipova, this is the biggest group among the most resilient people in the world – space pilots. Nenets people eat a lot of meat as they should, their genes adapted to that, it is forbidden to change anything, as she says.
According to the words of the scientists, wounds of Nenets people are healed quickly, they have wonderful reaction to antibiotics (for example, penicillin), relatively low susceptibility to oncologic diseases. But the most serious problem for indigenous people that affects their health is alcohol drinking, as «Studio Fact» informs.
