Basis of food safety in the south and the north of the region are being formed in Tyumen

The high-technological greenhouse complex, the largest one in the region is being built in Tyumen. It will allow 10 times increasing the amount of production of vegetables in calculation per one inhabitant of the region. In the opinion of a deputy of the parliament of Tyumen Oblast (Duma) Yuriy Konev, this complex is laying the basis of food safety of the south and northern regions of Tyumen Oblast.
According to his words, it needs to invest money to such objects as this one – it solves many problems at once. First, the problem of year-round deliveries of fresh vegetables for population in the south of the region and northern towns. Second, it creates new working places. Third, it solves the problem of import substitution.
The forthcoming council of legislators of Tyumen Oblast, Yamal and Yugra will take place in the town Salekhard. The participants will scrutinize the issue of food safety of the whole big region and will bring in concrete suggestions, as he notes. As Yuriy Konev thinks, it needs to finance such projects further, maybe, already through joint efforts. There is a program «Cooperation», within which it is possible to solve such issues. He gave all this information to journalists on the ceremony of planting of the first seeds in the greenhouse complex being built in the settlement Narimanovo. Already by the 20th of December the young plants will be placed in the production building. They will be grown with a hydroponic method. By the words of the chief agronomist of the management company on technology of greenhouse economy Vladimir Polyakov, it is planned to harvest the first vegetables already on the 15th of January. In the prospect, it is planned to harvest about 120 kilograms of vegetables from one square meter per year.
The first stage of the innovative project was spread on the area in 11 hectares, it is planned to build in other 5 hectares. Capacity of the first stage will make 27.5 tons of vegetables per day. Fulfillment of this project, by the assessment of specialists, will allow providing population of the region with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuces all year round.
