Doctor historical sciences, an employee of Tomsk State University Nadezhda Lukina presented several books in the town Salekhard.
She told about her translations of a diary of the German scientist Wolfgang Steinitz and Khanty fairy-tales collected by him and also about work on a collection of articles dedicated to culture of Nenets people.
Ethnography of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North is a basic specialization of Nadezhda Lukina, her second specialization on the diploma – German Language. She is interested in translations of ethnographic literature from German language to Russian. For this work it needs to be a specialist in both spheres. Presenting the works of the German scientist translated by her and published in Russian language, she told that Wolfgang Steinitz had been a political refugee, a communist, an employee of the Leningrad institute of peoples of the North in the 30-s of last century. In 1935 he went to the expedition to Khanty settlements on the Ob River. He also arrived to Salekhard on issues of creation of the Khanty alphabet. A part of his diary is dedicated to these events.
As for translation of Khanty fairy-tales, doctor of science notes that Wolfgang Steinitz recorded them in the expedition basically on the Synya River and while working at the institute of peoples of the North. All his scientific materials were published in four volumes. For her books Nadezhda Lukina chose about 20 texts of prosaic folklore. At the institute a student Pyotr Pyrysev, a potential research worker, was the main informer of the German scientist. The young man told fairy-tales and also wrote a scientific report about guardians of spirits. The book «Khanty fairy-tales» was published under headings of two establishments. Tomsk State University took work and expenditures on this edition on itself, and the scientific center for study of the Arctic was the organizer of the project.
Also Nadezhda Lukina informs that research on culture of Nenets people is a collection of articles dedicated to different aspects of their culture, basically ethnography. It was compiled by doctor of sciences of Yamal Yelena Pushkaryova, and doctor of sciences from Tomsk was the editor of the collection. Nadezhda Lukina marked the most interesting: articles by the Japanese researcher Yoshida, an article by Aleksey Burykin in the memory about ethnographers, who had died within expeditions, and also materials by Arkady Gashilov about famous researchers among Nenets people: linguists, ethnographers, sociologists and about doctor of juridical sciences Sergey Kharyuchi.
