Vladimir Putin: «Gazprom Neft» is ready to work with the Indian company OVL in the Arctic

The joint-stock company «Gazprom Neft» is interested in cooperation with Indian oil and gas companies for fulfillment of projects in the Arctic.
This information was given by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the interview to the Indian news agency PTI.
As he notes, today the issue of participation of OVL in extraction of hydrocarbons in the Arctic is being studied actively. In May within the Petersburg international economic forum «Rosneft» signed the memorandum about cooperation with this company on the arctic shelf of Russia within the international consortium. «Gazprom Neft» also expresses interest to establishment of work with Indian oil and gas companies for fulfillment of arctic projects, as Vladimir Putin notes.
The Memorandum of Rosneft with the Indian company ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL) supposes joint geological survey, search and exploration, extraction of hydrocarbons on the continental shelf of Russia. The document foresees the opportunity to create the consortium headed by the Russian company with the prospect to attract other partners.
According to the information of the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin given to RIA «Novosti», the company does not intend to postpone work on the shelf of the Arctic, will conduct it in conformity with the established plan and licensed requirements, in spite of difficulties that appeared because of the sanctions from the West and the stops in cooperation with ExxonMobil.
