Artur Chilingarov: Russia is ready to dialogue on issues of development of the Arctic

The level of international cooperation in the Arctic is an example of good-neighborly policy, and Russia stays a supporter of constructive dialogue with other countries on issues of development of the region. It was declared by the special presidential envoy on international cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic Artur Chilingarov.
He is participating in the conference «Arctic Frontiers» in Tromso, Norway. According to his words, the achieved level of international cooperation in the Arctic without any exaggeration can be called an example of good-neighborly, sustainable and predictable policy. He expresses confidence that there are no such problems in the Arctic that cannot be solved on the basis of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
As he notes, Russia was and stays a supporter of constructive dialogue and is still open for cooperation, and without international interaction the further study of climate and energy potential of the arctic region is hardly possible, as RIA «Novosti» informs.
As Artur Chilingarov says, some countries frighten Russia with «the cold war». And he would like to underline that Russia is not afraid of «the cold war». He invited representatives of foreign states to participate in work of the drifting base «The North Pole-41». It is planned to organize the base in February-March.
The International conference «Arctic Frontiers» that has taken place in Tromso for the 9th time became the platform, on which politicians, scientists from northern countries discuss the most serious and important problems connected with economy, ecology and researches in the Far North. More than 1000 delegates from more than 30 countries, including ministers of Norway, Sweden and Denmark, arrived to the international forum.
