Two Russian drifting stations «North Pole-41» and «Barneo» will be deployed in the Arctic in the beginning of spring.
This information was given by the special presidential envoy on international cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic Artur Chilingarov.
The stations «North Pole-41» and «Barneo» will be deployed in March. Today specialists are observing ice floes from the outer space and searching for ones suitable for the stations, as he notes. About 15 polar explorers will start working on the stations simultaneously. They will be busy with study of climate, navigation and ice conditions, temperature modes, as RIA «Novosti» informs. According to the information given earlier by the head of the Ministry for natural resources of the Russian Federation Sergey Donskoy, about 300 million rubles were allocated for equipping of the expedition.
