Dmitriy Kobylkin met with participants of the International Gas Union

The governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitriy Kobylkin met with the participants of the International Gas Union in Salekhard.
Representatives of leading gas corporations from Russia, China, Japan, Iran, Norway and France arrived to the regional capital.
Dmitriy Kobylkin considers that the place for conducting of this meeting is objectively justified.
Yamal is a basic region of Russian gas extraction. 85 percent of the whole Russian gas is extracted here in severe conditions of the Arctic. The local authorities of Yamal do their best in order work of gas workers here would be comfortable. The government together with companies elaborated effective algorithm of cooperation that means wages of people of Yamal, socioeconomic situation in the region and roads, as Dmitriy Kobylkin notes.
The participants of the meeting learnt about experience of Yamal in extraction, exploration of gas and its transportation in extreme climate conditions. Also the foreign guests received information about the territorial bank of geophysical and geological data of Yamal. It was created in 1997 and was the first in Russia. The participants of the International Gas Union are going to visit Noviy Urengoy. According to the information given by the deputy chief engineer on scientific and technical work and ecology of the company «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» Anatoly Arabsky to a correspondent of IA «Sever-Press», representatives of two committees of the International Gas Union arrived to Yamal: the program committee «Sustainability» and the working committee «Exploration and production». In 2008 the first of them arrived to Yamal. The experts saw Yamburgskoye and Zapolyarnoye fields; in Tazovskiy they saw work of reindeer herders. This time they are suggested to study how the local authorities work with extracting companies, how sustainable development is reached here.
The International Gas Union is an association uniting representatives of the world gas industry. It was founded in 1931 to assist to development of gas industry in the world scale. The union includes more than 100 representatives from 71 countries of the world, on account of which there is 95 percent of extraction of natural gas in the world. Now there are 6 representatives of Gazprom in the governing bodies of the union.
