Yamal LNG and Rosneft are concluding strategic contracts with foreign companies in spite of crisis phenomena aroused with the sanctions against Russia.
Yamal Trade, the subdivision of Yamal LNG, and the Belgian company Fluxus signed the contract for rendering of services on transshipment of liquefied natural gas in Zeebrugge, as neftegaz.ru informs. The agreement foresees transshipment of about 8 million tons of liquefied natural gas from arctic tankers to convection-type tankers for delivery to countries of the Asia-Pacific Region in winter, when navigation on the Northern Sea Route is complicated.
The 20-year contract strengthens positions of Belgian gas system as central for gas streams from different countries and once again confirms the role of Zeebrugge as a year-round LNG-hub in the North-Western Europe.
Rosneft is ready to purchase and use technologies of the Norwegian company Golar LNG Limited. The companies signed the memorandum, within which they will scrutinize the opportunity to use floating plants on liquefying of natural gas (designed by Golar) in projects of Rosneft. It is supposed that use of leading technologies will allow reducing capital expenditures of Rosneft at extraction of LNG and accelerating development of fields, as it is informed on the portal energyland.info.
