Till 2020 cargo stream on the Northern Sea Route will make 65 million tons

Now the complex project of development of the Northern Sea Route is being scrutinized by interested federal bodies of the executive power.
This information was given by the deputy minister for transport of Russia Viktor Olerskiy within the international conference «Transport and Logistic in the Arctic – 2015».
According to his words, at preparation of the project the Ministry for transport proceeded from the fact that the forecasted cargo stream on water area of the Northern Sea Route till 2020 will make 65 million tons.
Cargo streams being formed in locations of extraction of hydrocarbon raw materials on the arctic coast of the continental shelf of the Russian Federation and also on territories adjoining to water areas of the Northern Sea Route are the most promising for transportations on the Northern Sea Route, as the press-center for the Ministry for transport informs.
Viktor Olerskiy informs that the Ministry for transport, according to the order of the head of the state, prepared the draft law that foresees strengthening of the cargo base, first of all, of Russian oil and gas being extracted on the shelf. He asked deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to support this draft law and to adopt it in the first reading this year.
