The Union of the Arctic Territories can appear in Russia

The governmental commission on development of the Arctic can create the Union of the Arctic Territories.

It was declared by the deputy chairperson of the government of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Rogozin.

According to his information given to journalists, there are interesting topics, they are suggested by the governor of Arkhangelsk Oblast and connected with creation of the Union of the Arctic Territories – subjects of the federation of large regions, which adjoin to the Arctic zone.
Also, as he declares, centers for taking decisions on the Arctic can move from Moscow. It is supposed that today it needs to move all centers for taking decisions on the Arctic closer to the arctic zone. The Northern Sea Route is an extra-significant topic, a big advantage of Russia, the fastest way from the East to the West, the icy «Silk Road». Where does it need to take decisions on the Northern Sea Route? In warm armchairs of Moscow offices or in Archangelsk and other towns? — Dmitriy Rogozin asks.
According to his words, it needs to delegate authorities and to attract people, who will take decisions on the local level, as RIA «Novosti» informs.
