Tyumen State University was included to the list of the best educational institutions selected for the federal project «5-100» on raising international competitiveness of Russian universities.
As the governor of Yamal Dmitriy Kobylkin notes, full-scale projects on scientific accompanying of oil and gas extracting activity in the arctic region are fulfilled in Tyumen State University. Also quality of natural environment on the peninsulas Yamal, Gydan and Beliy Island is studied. The coming plans include creation of the joint arctic scientific station «Nadymskaya». Researches being conducted by the university in the arctic zone can have global significance, as he says.
The rector of Tyumen State University Valery Falkov defended the long-term program on development of the higher education institution on the sitting of the expert council in Vladivostok. Representatives of large corporations and the power supported the application of Tyumen State University for participation in the federal contest, as it is informed on the portal utmn.ru.
18 higher education institutions claimed for participation in the project «5-100». They presented their programs of development to the experts. The best six include two from Ural Federal Okrug – Tyumen State University and South Ural State University. The Ministry for education and science of the Russian Federation will take the final decision about including of the higher education institutions to the project and about the size of subsidies in two weeks.
