A group of schoolchildren created an off-road vehicle for expeditions to the Arctic and presented it in Yaroslavl on the All-Russian forum «Future intellectual leaders of Russia».
As Dmitriy Shulgin from the town Rossosh, Voronezh Oblast tells to TASS, the task was set – to create a machine for expeditions to the Arctic. At that, it should have three innovations that other off-road vehicles do not have. «LADA 4×4» was taken as the basis. The task was solved. They even agreed with Russian enterprises about delivery of spare parts for its assemblage. An approximate cost of the vehicle is about 1 million rubles.
The innovations include an engine, which will start up at 50C degrees of frost, a fuel tank of increased capacity, closed cycle of heat exchange, special insulation and armchairs, a generator to generate electricity, a modern radio station. The vehicle can travel without stopping one thousand kilometers. The inside will be warm due to the closed cycle of heat exchange. They installed a tank for 155 liters in the car; it was placed in the rear trunk. It is separated from the interior part with the fire wall. In a case of stopping the machine it will be possible to live inside it for two days and heat it. The generator will generate electricity. The special insulation of the walls of the body with the thickness in 25 centimeters will protect from the cold. In the car there are special arm-chairs, in which it is possible to sleep and work and the radio station of the last generation. This information was given by one of the authors of the model of the off-road vehicle, a pupil from the town Koryazhma, Archangelsk Oblast Alexander Tulubenskiy.
As the head of the project «LADA Like» and the expedition to the Arctic Sergey Rodin notes, ideas of the schoolchildren completely coincided with ideas of specialists. The vehicle is wonderful and not expensive, as he notes. They coped with the task. As the award the names of all ten schoolchildren will be placed on bodies of two vehicles, which will go to the arctic expedition on the 15th of January.
