The book by Zinaida Longortova, a writer from Yamal, will be published in London in million copies

A journalist, a culture expert, a writer, the chairperson of the family community of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North «Kushevat» Zinaida Longortova became the owner of the prestige literature prize in London.
Authors, translators and illustrators from the whole world participated in the 4th Open Eurasia and Central Asia Book Forum and the Literature Festival that took place in London. The writer from Yamal, the author of the novel «U Sinevodnoy Obi» («At blue water of the Ob River») won in the category «Work of Literature».
Zinaida Longortova told a correspondent of IA «Sever-Press» how she received the official invitation to the forum as an author included to the shortlist of the contest that had 30 surnames. She even did not suppose that could win.
The chairperson of the forum, a Tatar writer, doctor of sciences Marat Akhmedzhanov notes that the aim of the event was to find not only talented authors but also those, who would be interesting for English-speaking readers. As Zinaida Longortova says, in her book he liked that it was written for children, showed culture of ethnic minorities, included successful description of nature and unexpected plot twists.
Zinaida Longortova will allocate the whole prize to translation of the novel «U Sinevodnoy Obi» to English. The book will be published in London in more than 1 million copies. As the winner of the contest says, for her it is important that a million people, who will learn about Yamal and life of Khanty people, will appear in the world.
