Vladimir Putin: Russia intends to increase its share on the LNG market

The summit of heads of states – the participants of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) was opened in Teheran. Russia was represented by the President Vladimir Putin, as «Rossiyskaya Gazeta» informs.
Speaking on the plenary session, he noted that by 2040 demands in gas would grow in the world on 32 percent. Serious investments will be necessary to satisfy the growing demand – it needs cardinally to accelerate work in new extractive fields, to input new gas pipelines to operation, to expand deliveries of liquefied natural gas. Such plans require for full-scale capital investments, payback period of which will last tens of years. At that the President is sure: purchasers should take investment risks equally with gas producers.
The national energy strategy till 2035 foresees increase in gas extraction up to 40 percent: from 578 milliard cubic meters to 885 milliard cubic meters. As Vladimir Putin assures, the country will cope with all the plans on gas export. It is able to fulfill them.
The President underlines that Russia intends to increase its share on the LNG market. Several projects will be embodied. On the Asian direction it is planned to increase deliveries from 6 to 30 percent, up to 128 milliard cubic meters, as he notes.
In general, the task is to increase Russian deliveries of liquefied natural gas up to 60 million tons, in other words, from present 4 percent on the world market to 13 percent.
As we should note, during the trip of Vladimir Putin to Iran, by the results of negotiations with the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, the President of Russia declared that the sides had chosen priority projects in different spheres of economy.
35 priority projects were chosen in the sphere of power engineering, building of marine terminals, electrification of railroads and others, as Vladimir Putin notes.
