Soon the nuclear-powered icebreaker «Yamal» will go to the Kara Sea. It will conduct icebreaking support of ships towards the port of Sabetta, as it is informed on the portal arctic-tv.ru. The icebreaker «Vaygach» completed passage on the Northern Sea Route from Dezhnev Cape to Beliy Island (Yamal).
It also set the record of speed. According to the words of the captain of the icebreaker «Vaygach» Leonid Irlitsa, the nuclear-powered icebreaker overcame the distance in 2250 miles during 7.5 days. The average speed of the passage made more than 12 knots. Now the nuclear-powered icebreaker started work on icebreaking support of ships in the Kara Sea towards the port of Sabetta (Yamal).
The nuclear-powered icebreaker «Taymyr» conducted icebreaking support of the tanker «Ice Eagle» to the ice moorage of Mys Kamenniy (Yamal) and set it for loading. This is the first ship supported during the winter-spring navigation within the contract with «Gazprom Neft». Now «Taymyr» is going to the district of the port of Sabetta for further work.
