The government of the Russian Federation permitted visits of foreign vessels to the arctic terminal of year-round offloading of oil of Novoportovskoye field in the sea port of Sabetta (being built in Yamal) without additional approvals. It became possible after changes in the list of inland waterways of the Russian Federation.
The necessity to change the northern boundary of the Ob-Irtysh basin of inland waterways of Russia appeared for changing the boundaries of water areas of the sea port of Sabetta on inclusion of an additional sector of water areas «The Arctic terminal of year-round offloading of oil of Novoportovskoye field», as it is informed on the portal newsru.com.
Novoportovskoye is one of the largest oil, gas, condensate fields being developed in Yamal. It is situated behind the Polar Circle, far from transport pipeline infrastructure. Offloading of raw materials by sea through Mys Kamenniy was chosen as an optimal decision for transportation. For the first time «Gazprom Neft» confirmed the opportunity of winter oil transportation by sea in 2011 after test icebreaking support from the port of Sabetta to the settlement Mys Kamenniy.
Extractable reserves of Novoportovskoye field on the categories C1 and C2 make more than 250 million tons of oil and condensate and also more than 320 milliard cubic meters of gas with consideration of Paleozoic deposits.
