The company “NOVATEK” started the preliminary negotiations on sales of liquefied natural gas from its projects being next after “Yamal LNG”. NOVATEK considers the market of Thailand promising. This information was given by the head of the company Leonid Mikhelson in the interview to the TV channel “Rossiya 24”.
As he says, practically all the future products have been already contracted. If to speak about prospects then, probably, markets of the Asia-Pacific Region will be developed in faster tempos. Recently he met with representatives of the company from Thailand RTT. Till 2020 they are expecting abrupt falling of own extraction. This is a potential market, as he notes.
The project “Arctic LNG” foresees building of the new plant of LNG in the port of Sabetta, where the plant on the project “Yamal LNG” is being built now, as it is informed on the portal gudok.ru.
Gas for liquefying will be delivered from Salmanovskoye (Utreneye) and Geofizicheskoye oil, gas, condensate fields, which are situated on the Gydan peninsula. Proved reserves in the fields make 235 milliard cubic meters of gas and 9 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons. The beginning of building of the plant on liquefying is planned for 2018.
Fields and license areas of NOVATEK are situated in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. About 80 percents of the whole gas extraction in Russia and approximately 16 percents of the world amount of gas extraction are on its account.
