The scientific and research stationary center “Yerkuta” will be completed with a module with solar panels

The 20-foot module for work equipped with solar panels was sent to the scientific and research stationary center “Yerkuta” in the southern Yamal.
The interregional expedition center “Arktika” (Arctic) at support of the department on science and innovations of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug will continue its modernization. The stationary center is used by Russian and foreign scientists as the monitoring platform on study of ecological systems of the Arctic.
According to the words of the director of the center “Arktika” Andrey Baryshnikov, the module was designed by an engineer of the center Maksim Nikolov. He considered wishes of biologists of the Arctic scientific and research stationary center and the scientific center for study of the Arctic regularly working on Yerkuta since 1999. In March the scientists from Yamal also will go to the stationary center in order to renew baits for animals, to change memory cards and accumulators in automatic observation cameras, as the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs.
As we should remind, last March the scientific and research base on the bank of the Yerkuta River was equipped with four modules. Two of them are purposed for accommodation of the scientists, other two are used for storing of fuel, machinery and equipment. The interregional expedition center “Arktika” plans to equip the stationary center with a wind generator for transfer it to the year-round mode of work.
