Receiving of applications for participation in the first all-Russian forum of ecological tourism “The Polar Land” was completed in Yamal on the 1st of April.
The event will take place from the 18th to the 24th of April in Salekhard. More than 200 representatives of science, public organizations and tourist business from different Russian regions and also compatriots from Latvia, Norway, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Germany, Austria and Belarus will participate in it.
The forum will include master-classes, round tables, zonal competitions on sports tourism, the business session with regional presentations of promising tourist routes, competitions on national kinds of sport and the vast excursion and entertainment program. It is planned to climb the mountain Rai-Iz in the Polar Urals (the project “Height 868”). This expedition will become the vivid presentation of tourism potential of Yamal.
Scientists, sociologists, ecologists from arctic regions are invited to present their reports within the forum. These are representatives of the Federal agency for tourism, the association of tourism operators of Russia, the federation of sports tourism of Russia and others.
The forum is being organized by the interregional public ecological and sociological organization “Green Arctic” together with the department of international and external economic relations of Yamal at support of the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
36 tourist routes work in Yamal. They are directed to ethnographic, sports, ecological, cultural and cognitive, event spheres.
Ecological tourism in Yamal is demanded both by residents of Yamal and guests. It includes hiking tours and rafting tours on rivers of Yamal. As the press-service of the governor of Yamal informs, the town Gubkinskiy offers to participate in the ten-day rafting tour on the Pyako-Pur River. Amateurs of nature of the Polar Urals are given the opportunity of rafting on its numerous rivers – the Sob River, the Khodata River, the Kharbey River and others. Hiking tours are organized on the Polar Urals and in Krasnoselkoup district.
