Prospects of development of fishery and aquaculture in Yamal were scrutinized in the settlement Aksarka

The round table on discussion of modern state and prospects of development of fishery and aquaculture in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug took place on the 19th of January in the settlement Aksarka, Priuralskiy district.
It was conducted by the chairman of the committee of the Legislative Assembly of Yamal on development of agro-industrial complex and affairs of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North Marat Abdrakhmanov. The chairman of the Yamal Parliament Sergey Yamkin and deputies, the head of Priuralskiy district Ivan Sakal, heads of specialized departments of Yamal, fishing enterprises and communities of the district participated in the sitting.
The participants scrutinized necessity of adoption of the regional law on fishery, aquaculture and preservation of water biological resources. Also they were informed about measures on preservation of biological resources and about scientific researches of water reservoirs suitable for development of aquaculture in Yamal.
The director general of Sobsky fish-farming plant Danil Eltekov told about directions of activity of the enterprise and expected results on artificial reproduction of whitefish species in 2017.
Marat Abdrakhmanov gave comments on the results of the round table to journalists. According to his words, the draft law on aquaculture, fishery and preservation of biological resources in Yamal was adopted in the first reading. In order to approve it in the second and the final reading it needs to conduct discussions in municipalities with participation of specialized departments. Within the sitting all the participants agreed with necessity of such regional law. Special accent is made on aquaculture, in other words, on fish farming. This direction is very promising in Yamal that has big number of lakes.
Also Marat Abdrakhmanov suggests using experience of other regions of the country, where this direction is developed successfully. As he underlines, adoption of the law should lead to elaboration of normative and legal acts and programs in order to make the document work. The deputy focused attention on so that the participants of the sitting found points of contact in further work. For example, science will help to find lakes suitable for fish farming. Also there was an issue about preferences for farmers, who will be engaged into aquaculture. An issue of priority of indigenous peoples of the North in management of water reservoirs was presented. Discussion of the draft law will be continued in other parts of the region. It is planned to scrutinize it in the final reading in February within the sitting of the Yamal Parliament.
