The seminar on protection of rights of indigenous peoples of the North will take place in Tazovskiy district

The informational and legal seminar on mechanisms on protection of rights of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation will take place in the settlement Tazovskiy on the 30th and the 31st of January.
Its organizers are: the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East, its regional branch “Yamal is for descendants” and bodies of the power of Yamal. Preparation of the most important issues for following work of the Arctic Forum, which will take place in Salekhard on the 21st-23rd of March, will become the result of the seminar, as it is informed in the office of information and public relations at the administration of Tazovskiy district.
The president of the Russian Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Grigory Ledkov, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Yamal Sergey Yamkin were invited for conducting of the seminar. Heads of specialized public organizations and the head of the district Alexander Ivanov and also representatives of the following departments will participate in work of the seminar: of indigenous ethnic minorities of the North, of agro-industrial complex, trade and foodstuff, of nature-resource regulation, forestry relations and development of oil and gas complex.
About 70 representatives of enterprises of agro-industrial complex, of public organizations, private reindeer herders, specialists of the board on work with population of inter-settlement territories and traditional branches of economy at the district administration will arrive to the seminar.
An expert-candidate of juridical sciences, associate professor of civil law of the Institute of state and law at Tyumen State University Anton Permyakov will speak on the review of international legislation on rights of indigenous peoples and important issues of federal legislation in this direction.
On the second day of the seminar the participants will scrutinize information about activity of different public associations of indigenous ethnic minorities of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Tyumen Oblast and Sverdlovsk Oblast.
The cultural program will be prepared for the guests and the participants of the seminar, including the excursion to a choum for guests (the note: a choum is a dwelling of nomads, reindeer herders; it is similar to a tepee), the holiday concert with participation of local singers and creative collectives.
