The gas carrier “Christophe de Margerie” will go from Murmansk to Sabetta

The gas carrier of ice class “Christophe de Margerie” went to the seaport of Murmansk for the first time. As the press-service of Rosmorport informs, marine pilots of the Murmansk branch of the enterprise successfully fulfilled piloting of the ship and its anchoring.
Having the test amount of liquefied natural gas, the ship is passing through at-sea tests in conditions of arctic seas. In the seaport of Murmansk the gas carrier will replenish its reserves, will change the crew and will go to the seaport of Sabetta.
The ship was specifically built last year in a shipyard of South Korea by the order of Sovcomflot for transportation of liquefied natural gas within fulfillment of the project “Yamal LNG”. The gas carrier of ice class Arc7 is able to overcome ice with the thickness up to 2.1 meters.
