Vladimir Pushkaryov: In the Year of Ecology it needs to do the best for preservation of nature and the Arctic

Arctic nature is fragile and vulnerable, long and hard recovering from ill-considered intervention.
The deputy chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for regional policy and problems of the North and the Far East Vladimir Pushkaryov told about it in Moscow within the international conference “The Arctic: Shelf Projects and Sustainable Development of the Regions” (The Arctic-2017). “We must do everything possible to save our nature and to create serious reserve of ecological strength of Yamal and the whole Arctic for the future”, he said.
Within the conference the deputy spoke on the report “Problems of environmental monitoring and waste management in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug”. According to his information given to a correspondent of IA “Sever-Press”, the main agenda included search for ways of solving problems on waste management and liquidation of accumulated environmental damage, protection of atmospheric air. The talk was also about development of ecological tourism on specially protected natural territories of the Arctic. The participants also discussed placement of automatic stations for monitoring of atmosphere, disposal of wastes on objects of accumulated environmental damage, clean-up and decontamination of sewages on the territory of the Arctic region. Vladimir Pushkaryov presented regional environmental projects on cleaning of Beliy and Vilkitsky Islands.
