Prospects of international cooperation in the Arctic were discussed in Moscow

The expert round table “The Forum “The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue” as a platform for discussing issues of international economic cooperation in the Arctic” took place in Moscow. The meeting continued activities being conducted before the International arctic forum “The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue”, which will take place in Archangelsk on the 29th-30th of March.

The participants discussed issues of international cooperation in the Arctic and attracting of young people to arctic initiatives, organizing of transport communication and fulfilling of major investment projects in the region. They encouraged everyone to join in continuation of the constructive discussion of these and other topical issues before the International Arctic forum.
The deputy chairman of the management board of NOVATEK Denis Khramov told about advanced experience of the company in fulfillment of production projects, in particular, “Yamal LNG”, and in providing of comfortable living environment for indigenous peoples of the North.
The participants of the round table also spoke about attracting of young people to arctic initiatives. As the head of the youth forum Matvey Navdayev notes, the youth forum “The Arctic. Made in Russia” will take place for the first time within this important international event. 180 people — representatives of Russia, the countries of the Arctic Council and also from Japan, Italy, Mexico and China – will participate in it, as the press-service of the International Arctic forum informs. Teams of young scientists, geologists, power engineers, economists, representatives of indigenous peoples of the Far North and the international community will put forward their proposals for practical fulfillment of the concept of development of supporting areas, as he says.
