“The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue”. International cooperation in the Arctic will be discussed on the forum

The forum “The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue” will become one of leading discussion platforms for scrutinizing of problems and prospects of development of investment attractiveness of the Arctic zone. The deputy minister for economic development of the Russian Federation Alexander Tsybulskiy declared about it on the expert round table “The Forum “The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue” as a platform for discussing issues of international economic cooperation in the Arctic”, which took place in Moscow.
As the deputy minister says, 13 basic activities were included to the business program of the arctic forum. Besides, the rich cultural program was elaborated, as the press-service of the international arctic forum informs. About 1500 guests from 14 countries are being expected, as he notes. It underlines high international status of the forum.
The ambassador at large of the Ministry for foreign affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Barbin also underlined necessity of open discussion of issues of the arctic agenda on the international level. As he says, the forum in Archangelsk aroused serious interest from the side of the world community. Presence of representatives from all arctic states is being expected. Beside the heads of Finland, Iceland, Vice-Premier of China and Prime-Minister of Sweden on the level of authorities of the Ministry for foreign affairs, the heads of the ministries for foreign affairs of Norway and Denmark confirmed their presence on the forum. The planned speeches of the foreign guests confirm that the business program of the forum is important from the point of view of international agenda and also demonstrates the focus of the world community on constructive dialogue on the Arctic theme, as he notes.
The international Arctic forum “The Arctic — Territory of Dialogue” is one of the key platforms to discuss problems and prospects of the Arctic region on the global level. The forum is called to unite efforts of the international community to ensure effective development of the Arctic and to improve the standard of living of population on the Arctic territories. The first forum was held in 2010 and was dedicated to modern problems of the Arctic region. In 2011 it touched upon issues of formation of the Arctic transport system, in 2013 issues of environmental safety were discussed among the main topics of the event. “Man in the Arctic” will be the key theme of the fourth international Arctic forum.
