Reindeer herders from Nadymskiy district won the Cup of the Governor

The traditional competitions of reindeer herders for the Cup of the Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug were finished in the town Nadym. The team of Nadymskiy district won the victory. The second place was taken by the enterprise “Panayevskoye” from Yamalskiy district. The representatives of the territorial and neighbor community of indigenous peoples of the North “Kharp” took the third place. This information was given in the press-service of the governor of Yamal.

12 teams competed for the victory – from Krasnoselkoup, Nadymskiy, Priuralskiy, Purovskiy, Tazovskiy, Shuryshkarskiy and Yamalskiy districts. The first place in the competitions on jumping over narty (nomadic sledge) was taken by Ilya Khorolya from the team of the enterprise “Panayevskoye”. He jumped over 270 nomadic sledges. A representative of Nadymskiy district Lev Yezyngi became the first in national wrestling and in mas-wrestling. Timur Tesida from Tazovskiy district became the first in throwing of a tynzyan on a khorey (a tynzyan is a rope-lasso for catching reindeer, a khorey is a long pole for driving a reindeer team) – 13 of 13 throws. Alexander Vanuito from Purovskiy district won the victory in triple national jump with the result 10.05 meters. The team of the enterprise “Panayevskoye” was the first on the finish in the ski relay race. No teams were equal to reindeer herders from Nadymskiy district in the race on reindeer teams. Vladimir Khatanzeyev took the first place among men, Alexandra Rotina – among women.
The winners in all kinds of the competitions received snowmobiles. Chainsaws, motor-drills and electric generators were given for the second and the third places. The following companies were the sponsors of the competitions: enterprises of “Gazprom”, “Severgaz-invest”, “Severneftegazprom”, “NOVATEK-Yurkharovneftegaz”, “Yamalkommunenergo” (the largest resource-supplying enterprise in Yamal), “Zapsibgazprom” and “Urengoydorstroy” (the company on road-building, construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure).
Holiday rows of shopping stalls, exhibition and sales of items of decorative and applied art, dishes of national cuisine, work of the “tea tent” were organized for guests and inhabitants of the town. Games were organized for children. The participants of the holiday were able to visit different thematic expositions in the House of nature and in the Museum of history and archeology.
Reindeer herders and all the people, who wished, were able to examine state of their health in the movable diagnostic complex “Mobile health center”. The regional center for medical prevention organized its work.
