1 trillion and 500 milliard rubles will be allocated in Ural Federal Okrug to priority arctic projects

Expenditures for fulfillment of top-priority projects in the Arctic zone – a part of Ural Federal Okrug are evaluated in 1 trillion and 500 milliard rubles. It makes 28% of the cost of all Russian projects in the Arctic. This information was given by the plenipotentiary envoy of the President of the Russian Federation Igor Kholmanskikh in Novosibirsk on the joint conference of the plenipotentiary envoys of the President of the Russian Federation in Ural Federal Okrug and Siberian Federal Okrug.
According to the words of Igor Kholmanskikh, the ministry for economic development together with interested federal and regional bodies of the executive power and organizations prepared a portfolio of projects being fulfilled or planned for fulfillment in the Arctic zone. In total 150 promising projects were defined, about 20 of them were chosen as priority with terms of fulfillment till 2030, as ru.arctic.ru informs.
The total cost of the projects is being estimated almost in 1 trillion and 500 milliard rubles, or 28% of the cost of all Russian projects in the Arctic. It speaks that development of the arctic zone of the Russian Federation should become a driver for industrially developed non-arctic regions of Russia, as Igor Kholmanskikh notes.
The plenipotentiary envoy notes that on the territory of Ural Federal Okrug the list includes such projects as development of production of liquefied natural gas on the territory of Yamal and construction of the seaport of Sabetta – the cost of the project makes 1 trillion rubles, creation of the Northern Latitudinal Railway – 244 milliard rubles, creation of the new railroad line “Bovanenkovo – Sabetta” – 76 milliard rubles and construction of a part of the motor road “Surgut – Salekhard” (a part “Nadym – Salekhard” – 67 milliard rubles).
