The international conference “Arctic dialogue” will take place in Moscow on the 25th of April. Experts from Norway, Finland, Denmark, Korea, from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and northern towns of Russia will participate in it.
The program of the event foresees discussion of key aspects of interaction between the states, interests of which are spread on the Arctic region, as the news and analytical agency “PortNews” informs. “Arctic dialogue” will be dedicated to three basic topics: international collaboration and cooperation in the Arctic, issues of ecology and subsoil use in the region and development of transport and logistic system.
As the organizing committee of the conference notes, interests of several large countries collide in the Arctic. Not only Russia has its arctic agenda but also the USA, Canada, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Iceland. Besides, countries of the Asia-Pacific region – China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and others express their interest to the region. The question stays open: if the Arctic will become the territory of cooperation or confrontation.
The aim of the conference “Arctic dialogue” is to conduct complex external political expert examination in order to define both “pain points” of international interaction and potential opportunities for cooperation in the Arctic.
The event will be conducted by the Russian-Baltic media center at participation of Gorchakov Fund for Support of Public Diplomacy, the Association for cooperation with the Baltic Sea countries “NORDEN”, the informational support of the news agency “Regnum” and the news and analytical agency “PortNews”.
