“The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue”. Vladimir Putin will participate in the plenary session of the forum

The plenary session “Man in the Arctic” will become the main event of the 4th international arctic forum “The Arctic – Territory of Dialogue”, which will take place on the 29th and the 30th of March in Archangelsk. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will participate in its work.

The business program of the forum was divided into several directions. The thematic block “Human capital” includes the sittings “The Arctic: Territory of History, Culture, and Tourism”, “The Arctic: Territory of Professionals” and “The Arctic: Territory of Health”. Among the speakers there is the deputy chairperson of the government of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets, the ministers for education and science Olga Vasilyeva and for health care Veronica Skvortsova, the presidents of the University of the Arctic Lars Kullerud and of the International Arctic Science Committee Susan Barr.
The following representatives will participate in discussing of acute issues of the second block “Sustainable Development of the Arctic”: the ministers for natural resources and environment Sergey Donskoy, of transport of the Russian Federation Maksim Sokolov, the director of Akvaplan-niva AS Salve Dahle, the Chair of the Senior Arctic Officials of the Arctic Council David Balton, the Chairman of the Council for the Arctic and Antarctic under the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Shtyrov and other representatives of the business, the power and the scientific community.
“Science and Technologies” is the third direction of discussions. Representatives of the corporations “VostokCoal”, BP, “Rosatom”, NOVATEK, the director general of the Advanced Research Foundation Andrey Grigoryev, the minister for industry and trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, the chief executive director of Polar Knowledge Canada David Scott and others will speak on the sittings “The Arctic: Territory of Modern Energy” and “The Arctic: Territory of Transport Opportunities”.
“Economic development of the Arctic” will be discussed at participation of the deputy minister for economic development of the Russian Federation Alexander Tsybulskiy, the Vice Chair of the Arctic Economic Council Tero Vauraste, representatives of the governments of Archangelsk and Murmansk regions, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
Special activities will take place – the Arctic Municipalities Forum, “The Arctic. Made in Russia” International Youth Educational Forum. Also it is planned to conduct the Arctic business-forum and the meeting of governors of the Northern forum. The sitting of the State Commission of the Arctic Development under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Rogozin will take place.
The program of the forum was elaborated with consideration of the opinion of business organizations, state and public figures, national and international scientific communities, unions and associations, as the press-service of the international arctic forum informs.
